Criminals who push some dangerous software are using Google well. according to Internet security company Spamhaus Technology.
noticed the problem End of 2022but Spamhaus saw a spike in dangerous Google ads at the end of January.
These ads, which appear next to Google search results, look like popular software programs, but actually download malware onto the victim’s computer. Spamhouse explains:
“Many malware such as AuroraStealer, IcedID, Meta Stealer, RedLine Stealer and Vidar used Google Ads to impersonate brands such as Adobe Reader, Gimp, Microsoft Teams, OBS, Slack, Thunderbird and other malicious programs. It is being delivered to the victim’s machine through a human.”
These so-called “Stealer” Virus obtains personal and financial information from web browsers, various chat and password programs, and programs used to store cryptocurrencies, and delivers that information to criminals to track or steal assets. You can sell information.
google of course Do not allow this exploit — but struggling to keep up. Technology news site Ars Technica recently attempted to search for a particular program on Google and was able to find a series of advertisements leading to dangerous copycats.
“Until Google gets back on its feet, people need to be very careful when searching Google and other search sites, especially when it comes to downloading software.” Arstecnica writes.
