Toei Animation, the Japanese animation studio behind popular series such as Dragon Ball and sailor moonhas partnered with Sony Music Solutions to develop a series of virtual worlds available through the popular VR social platform. VR chat“Nostalgia 1999” is designed to recreate an otaku’s disorganized room in the 90’s, and includes a variety of Sony products and anime goods that evoke nostalgia.
Needless to say, this virtual playground is a paradise for self-proclaimed 90s anime fans. Here you can find everything from CDs and audiocassettes to various virtual him figures and other old-fashioned memorabilia. Some of these items move when held, providing an extra level of interactivity to the experience. There will also be a “Trinitron” CRT color TV showing classic his 90’s cartoons on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 10pm PST.
“Toei Animation in the 90s was loved by many people in their 30s and late 40s. It was a dream tool to have fun and add color to our daily lives,” says Tsuneyuki Matsudaira of Sony Music Solutions Inc., who was the producer of the project.
“Now, in partnership with Sony Music Solutions, who provided the physical product and documentation, the virtual space was able to bring their bittersweet memories to life,” he added. “We hope that this room will become a place for visitors to talk about the anime they used to enjoy. There are also many attractions inside, and I would like you to experience the mysterious feeling of exploring the past.”
As previously mentioned, Toei Animation and Sony Music Solutions will host a series of virtual watch parties later this month via the world of ONN’ON STUDIOS. VR chatThe first watch party will be held on February 24th, digimon adventure Episodes 1 and 2.
Toei Animation and Sony Music Solutions VR chat the world is now VR chat On PC VR and Meta Quest headsets. In addition to “Nostalgia 1999”, you can explore a scale model of Toei Animation’s predecessor, Toei Animation Studio, in the virtual world “Toei Animation Studio 1956”.
