The motivation behind its mission is not to corner the market by becoming the best-selling yakiniku restaurant. Instead, the entrepreneur credits his push to a nobler purpose. He wants to use BBQ to make an impact in the community.
Eblen turned to technology to improve its digital hospitality. Measures such as implementing an upgraded POS system are done with the customer in mind.
“We adopted Toast to allow us to start doing things like loyalty programs,” Eblen said of the change. “We were able to tell our loyal Single Tree Barbecue fans that we were opening a physical store and partnering with Heroes Den (a local live music restaurant in Murfreesboro, Tennessee) to bring live music and a great bar. I’m going to make it. I’m going to have a great barbecue.”
In addition to technology upgrades, Eblen dived headfirst into the new media world of podcasting. Single Tree Nation Podcastafter a push from . Digital media guru Shawn Walshefhe wasted no time putting his ideas into action and expanding Single Tree’s reach.
“The real purpose of my show is that it has nothing to do with Single Tree BBQ. It has to do with our community and help build it through barbecues, digital hospitality and online storytelling. ’” explains Charlie Ebren of The Weekly Podcast.
