That’s $70 less than the Series 8’s usual $399 starting price, and the best discount Engadget has had on a smartwatch since it went on sale. Unfortunately, Amazon only has the 41mm model in stock, and the Silver and Starlight colorways are not included in the sale.
Despite being a modest upgrade from its predecessor, the Series 8 is still available for purchase. It is fast and has a large always-on display. It also has strong app support and integration with Apple’s broader ecosystem. New to the Series 8 is a collision detection feature that can alert first responders in an emergency. It also has a temperature sensor that can help track ovulation.
That said, the Series 8 isn’t for everyone. Not beginner friendly for Android users as the wearable cannot be used without an iPhone. It’s also worth noting that it offers many of the same core features as the Series 8 at a lower price point.
