2021 and 2022 have been a tough year for business around the globe. In your experience can you share how businesses prosper in 2023.
The biggest thing I have learned, is the power of connections, collaboration and supporting each other. It is hard to compete with large organisations, but if we support each other, we can lift each other up and help each other grow.
The economy has been turned on it’s head in the wake of the pandemic. What should businesses focus on in 2023?
In my humble opinion, the biggest risk companies have, is not enough focus on their teams. Creating an environment of trust, empowerment, nurture, and growth. Plus, providing absolute clarity of WHY (purpose), values, and beliefs. There is too much time, focused on the What and the How, but not the Why, so people get confused, frustrated, demotivated, and disillusioned, and then subsequently leave. Since, covid people have realised they can spend more time with family and friends, and their priorities have changed, so when they are at work, they have to have a purpose. Particularly, with our Generation Z and Millennials, being predominantly focused on purpose, values, and beliefs. If we don’t look after our people, they won’t look after your customers, and that impacts the bottom line of the business.
Many businesses went from working in the office to working at home. What are the pro’s & con’s of working from home and have you any first-hand experience?
I personally have been a hybrid worker for over 20 years. There are merits for both, but it is all about balance. I do believe you get a lot of work done when you work from home and can be really focused. Plus, you are not losing unnecessary travel time. However, being among our peers and teams will help with team-building, collaboration, development, creativity, and growth. When you have problems or challenges, you tend to bounce them around when you are together. Whereas, when in your home office, you problem keep searching for an answer on your own for much longer.
Plus, I find as programme delivery specialist, that doing live workshops are far more productive, than doing them remotely. You can see the body language, responses and reactions, much better when you are together. Plus, it helps with keeping focus, it is easy to get distracted when people cannot see what you are doing. Such as reading phones, or searching for other information on your laptop.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has caused a rising effect on inflation..
How can business owners combat the rise of inflation and what have you done that you can share?
When I have been working as a Consultant within organisations, we have looked at their efficiencies within the organisation and throughout the supply chain. Which includes, their people, processes, technology and governance, around these areas. When they are not in balance, then something usually falls over and that has an impact on their bottom line.
A crucial point is to get your basics right first, then focus on continuous improvement. Many companies, extol the words “Continuous Excellence” and they haven’t even got the basics right first and then it creates frustration and demotivation within the organisation.
In the last 5 years we have seen the rise to Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, NFT’s, Digital Marketing and many more!
What do you think will impact the world most in regard to online selling?
Personally, I am now cautious with cryptocurrency, having suffered the consequences of fraudulent behaviour. However, like anything, there is a risk, and without risk, then you don’t grow.
Online selling will continue to grow, as it is far more convenient, plus it creates more opportunities for entrepreneurs, as they have a wider reach, without investing hundreds of thousands.

On a more subtle note.
If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive who would it be and why?
My immediate thoughts would be the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, and Gandhi.
For many reasons, the key one being their impact on the world. They live(d) with purpose and did not use power or violence, to inspire change. They have a great sense of fun, intelligence, and open-mindedness. Plus, they do not believe in barriers, whether that is between, countries, religion, culture, and beliefs.

Reading is still one of the most popular ways to learn anything.
What is your most recommended book(s) by who and what did you learn from them?
My list could be endless… I am an avid reader and listener of all types of books. However, the ones that immediately spring to mind are as follows:
5 Dysfunctions of an Organisation/Leader/Teams (each relevant) – Patrick Lencioni – I completely agree with his priorities, surrounding the focus of a team. If an organisation, followed these principles, it would hugely impact a businesses performance.
The Road to Less Stupid – Keith J Cunningham and the E-Myth – Michael E. Gerber – These books were great books to read when you are first starting out in business and continuing business. Advice made simple and linked with stories, to make it easier to relate with.
Find your Why, The Infinite Game, Starts with Why, Leaders Eat Last – Simon Sinek – Focus on why/purpose, which is where you need to start from and the fact he is hugely focused on developing empowering leaders.
$100m offers – Alex Hermonzi – Absolutely, fundamental for helping you learn, tools and techniques to grow your business and value it higher. Working smart, not harder
Joyful Wisdom/The Joy of Living – Vongey Mingyur Rinpoche – Hugely commonality with what I teach my clients and teaches you how to meditate and become more focus, without fearing meditation and believing it is solely Buddhist’s that can achieve focus and state changes.
Joe Dispensa – books and podcasts – again linked to a lot of my teaches around energy, rewiring, awareness and meditation
What is your purpose for getting out of bed each day and what do you aim to achieve in the future?
My mission in life is to see the light shine in at least one person’s eye’s on a daily basis and have that Eureka moment and turn it into reality.
This gives me a Glowing Warm Flame Heart feeling. This may sound cheesy and woolly to some, yet it drives me to get up every day.
