FundamentalVR has partnered with Haply Robotics to offer a more realistic VR surgical simulation.
In the past, we’ve seen how immersive technologies like VR and Augmented Reality (AR) can help the healthcare industry. AR assisted surgery To VR Sedation.
Then there’s Fundamental Surgery, FundamentalVR’s immersive training platform. It uses VR technology and haptics to provide realistic simulations of a wide variety of realistic procedures, from medical students to professional surgeons. The platform includes many other educational features such as multi-user classrooms with instructor-led lessons.
we had the opportunity to try the platform Totally impressed with the technology presented.

Today, the company is partnering with award-winning haptic and robotics company Haply Robotics to deliver more realistic simulations using Haply’s portable haptic technology, including its flagship Inverse3 device. According to FundamentalVR, the platform mimics physical touch to provide effective surgical training cheaply and remotely. This partnership will only make the platform even better by introducing more advanced haptic technology.
FundamentalVR co-founder and CEO Richard Vincent said in the official release:
“We are pleased to partner with Haply Robotics, a leader in kinesthetic-based haptics. We will continue to support the education programs of the company to enable adoption of better product competencies,” he added.
Colin Gallacher, president and co-founder of Haply Robotics, said: “Haply’s haptic device enhances FundamentalVR’s developed virtual environments and medical training scenarios through force feedback and haptics.”
