google is map update It includes more detailed information about the national parks of the United States, making it easier to navigate and less likely to get lost. Searching for a specific park on Android or iOS now shows photos and videos of its major attractions. For example, Old Faithful in Yellowstone and Grand Prismatic Spring.
And searching the map now highlights the entire trail from start to finish, rather than just dropping a pin on a general location. You’ll also see difficulty details and information about whether it’s suitable for walking, running, or cycling. To provide even more useful information, Google displays other users’ reviews of parks and trails along with other useful details, such as the location of the nearest public restroom.
National parks are vast and often confusing, so Google will also start highlighting park entrances later this month, and maps will show trailheads. Finally, Google makes offline maps of parks available for download. This way you don’t have to worry about getting lost if you suddenly lose Internet access. A downloadable map will also be available later this month.
These features will initially roll out to U.S. national parks, but Google plans to make Maps more useful to hikers around the world, with more in-depth coverage of national parks in other countries coming later this month. We will be adding more information. But if you want to explore the parks virtually first, you can visit Google Street View and find dozens of national park imagery.
