Elon Musk told CNBC’s David Faber on Tuesday that he doesn’t mind if his inflammatory tweets scare advertisers away from Twitter.
“I will say what I want to say, and if it results in a loss, so be it,” Musk, who owns Twitter, said.
Musk responded defensively when Faber pressed on a tweet On Monday night, he likened liberal billionaire and Democratic donor George Soros: X-Men villain Magneto, a Jewish Holocaust survivor. Musk has previously criticized Soros.
“He is eroding the very fabric of civilization. Soros hates humanity,” Musk tweeted on Monday.
Soros, who is also Jewish, is a favorite target of right-wing pundits and politicians and is often the target of anti-Semitic attacks. soros fund management recently cut tesla shares.
“I’m rather pro-Jewish,” Musk said when asked by Faber about the criticism the Tesla CEO received over Soros’ tweets.
Over the years, Musk has tweeted controversial content, including conspiracy theories and comments critics have called widespread racism.
