AI-powered “conversational” holographic characters appear from looking glass.
Hologram technology company Looking Glass today announced Looking Glass Liteforms, the latest addition to its 3D holographic platform. Leveraging the company’s headset-free 3D holographic display technology, these “conversational” holographic characters can chat naturally with users, similar to typical text-based chatbots (except text).
The company says the Liteform platform will have dozens of characters to choose from, including Andi the Robot, Little Inu and Uncle Rabbit. Each character is brought to life using the popular AI chatbot ChaptGPT, promising a more natural conversation with users.
“Looking Glass is best known for developing the most realistic holographic solutions that bring 3D digital content to life without the need for a headset,” said Sean Frain, co-founder and CEO of Looking Glass. said in an official release.
“But in the last few years we have been prototyping new ways to not only create and display holograms, but also to communicate with them,” he added. “Now that we have made great strides with large-scale language models like ChatGPT, we can now do that. Brands around the world are using his Liteforms to create ‘living’ holograms that converse with their fans. Nothing makes me happier than watching you connect with magic. ”
Looking Glass says its Liteform technology addresses multiple use cases, from retail and non-advertising to location-based entertainment and personal use. Personally, I see this kind of technology thriving in brick-and-mortar stores looking to inject a little fun into the customer’s shopping experience.
The platform will be available through a standard subscription model and will include an enterprise tier for those interested in creating their own Liteform characters. There is also a basic subscription to unlock access to the pre-designed characters mentioned above.
The company said it expects to reveal more details about its pricing model later this summer. Interested parties can sign up for the beta program below. lookingglassfactory.com/liteforms. You can also experience the device hands-on at his AWE 2023 (booth 1139) in Santa Clara, CA on June 1st and 2nd.
Last year, we got a hands-on look at Looking Glass Portrait, a desktop version of the company’s holographic display designed for artists, designers, developers, filmmakers, photographers, and other creative professionals. I had an opportunity.
The device easily connects to a standard PC and can upload about 1,000 holographic photos and videos. It can also be used as a secondary 3D monitor.
