Nvidia — Shares soared 28% after the chipmaker announced massive earnings. Nvidia said it expects to have a “record giant year” with second-quarter revenue of $11 billion, more than 50% above analyst expectations.

best buy — The electronics retailer’s stock rose nearly 5% in pre-market trading to $1.11, analysts expected, after the company posted earnings per share of $1.15 excluding items in the first quarter, according to Refinitiv. surpassed Revenue was $9.47 billion, below the $9.52 billion forecast.
snowflake — The cloud-computing company fell about 13% after the company’s second-quarter earnings forecast came in below expectations. But Snowflake’s first-quarter profit and revenue, released after Wednesday’s bell, beat analyst expectations, Refinitiv said.
american eagle outfitters — Shares fell nearly 20% in pre-market trading after retailers said they expected lower second-quarter earnings. American Eagle Outfitters also had its earnings per share in line with expectations in the first quarter, with sales slightly ahead of expectations.
carnival — Cruise lines increased 2.3% following Citi’s upgrade from neutral to buy. The company said Carnival is at a tipping point on its balance sheet at a time when investors appear to be showing increased interest in the cruise sector.
dish network — The stock fell 2.7% in the premarket after Citi downgraded it from buy to neutral on Wednesday. The Wall Street firm cited Dish’s large capital needs, along with the declining market value of Dish’s securities.
dollar tree — The discount retailer’s shares fell 11% in premarket trading after Dollar Tree reported shrinking first-quarter profit margins. Gross profit declined 4.7% despite net sales increasing 6.1%. The company posted adjusted earnings per share of $1.47 in the first quarter, below analyst expectations of $1.52, according to Street Account.
C3.ai, Palantir Technologies — AI stocks rallied on Nvidia earnings, with C3.ai jumping 14% and Palantir Technologies up nearly 10%.
Advanced Micro Devices, taiwan semiconductor — Semiconductor stocks followed Nvidia in pre-market trading, with AMD up about 9% and Taiwan Semiconductor up nearly 7%.
