- Donald Trump has been indicted for the second time, and even his lawyers don’t seem to know much about it.
- His attorney told CNN that he had clarified the allegations, but warned that it was not “biblically accurate.”
- The seven charges are rumored to be related to espionage, sabotage, misrepresentation and conspiracy.
Former President Donald Trump was indicted Thursday for a second time in the Mar-a-Lago record case, and even his lawyers aren’t quite sure what exactly the charges are.
In an interview with CNN’s Caitlin Collins on Thursday night, Trump’s attorney Jim Trusty said Trump’s legal team had not been provided with an indictment. Instead, the team has been served a subpoena by the Department of Justice, requiring Trump and his legal team to appear in court on Tuesday.
He said the subpoena suggested what the charges against Trump were, but “it’s not 100% clear what the seven charges are.”
Trusty said the subpoena implied charges of espionage, charges based on several acts of obstruction, and charges of making false statements. When Mr. Collins asked if there was a conspiracy charge in the subpoena, Mr. Trusty replied, “I think so.”

But Trusty warned that what he was saying was not “biblically accurate.”
“There’s some wording in there that might actually reflect one count instead of two, but I think there was also a conspiracy count,” he told Collins.
If Trump is found guilty of violating the Espionage Act, he could face up to 10 years in prison. This law criminalizes the illegal removal of classified materials related to national defense.
reporter from ABC News tweeted Rumored charges against Trump carry a sentence of five to 20 years in prison if convicted.
