Drama has been heating up between CrowdStrike and Delta Airlines over possible legal action against the tech company following a massive outage in July that reportedly caused thousands of Delta flights to be canceled.
On Sunday, CrowdStrike lawyer Michael Carlinsky said: I wrote to Delta’s lawyer, David Boies, said Delta’s lawsuit threats “furthered the misleading narrative that CrowdStrike was to blame for Delta’s IT decisions and response to the outage.”
According to CNBC, the letter claims that CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz reached out to Delta CEO Ed Bastian during the height of the disaster “to offer on-site assistance but received no response.”

Karlinsky also said that if Delta moves forward with the lawsuit, the airline will “have to explain to the public, its shareholders and ultimately a jury why CrowdStrike promptly, transparently and constructively took responsibility for its actions and Delta did not.”
Last week, Bastian told Squawk Box that the incident left the airline “no choice” but to seek damages.
“We have to protect our shareholders,” Bastian said. He spoke on the show“We need to protect our customers and employees, not just from the costs, but from the damage to our brand and reputation.”
The CrowdStrike update caused widespread outages on Microsoft-run devices and also caused problems internally at Delta Airlines, affecting one of the airline’s main crew tracking tools.
