Kit Harington sent his congratulations to the cast and crew of House of the Dragon, but the actor said he doesn’t personally watch the show.
Harington spent eight seasons as Jon Snow on “Game of Thrones,” which ended in 2019. While promoting his new project, HBO’s “Industry” season three, the actor said: “I’m really excited about this. Associated Press He had to leave Westeros and the House of Dragons for a time.
“I just can’t watch it,” Harington said of House of the Dragon. “I think for me, I was there for too long. Harington told Business Insider in August 2021 that he planned to watch the show to support then-co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik, who also worked on “Game of Thrones.” But he knew it would be an emotional process to watch a show that reminded him of “Game of Thrones” even though he’s not in it. Harrington told The Associated Press that it took him a while to move on from “Game of Thrones” because at this point in his career he wanted to try a different TV character and was impressed with the first season of “Industry.”
“I felt like what I wanted to do was tackle a full character storyline, not just a storyline from that episode or that movie. I wanted to do a TV character storyline again.”
