Meet Hugh Simpson, a 76-year-old entrepreneur who embarked on his first entrepreneurial venture in 1973, marking the beginning of his 50-year journey as a serial entrepreneur. Prior to delving into the world of entrepreneurship, he served as an investigative reporter for Post Newsweek TV Group, where he worked as one of their first consumer reporters. Hugh’s academic pursuits led him to Florida State University, where he completed his undergraduate degree, and later, to the University of Illinois, where he obtained a Master of Science in Advertising and Public Relations.

Having been raised by a successful entrepreneur mom, Hugh drew inspiration and decided to pursue his own entrepreneurial journey. He landed his first significant client, the Original Marlboro Man, and became his publicist, helping turn his classic “You What You Wear” into a best-selling book. Another notable client was the ultra-marathon runner, Stan Cottrell, whom Hugh helped with publicity for his epic Run Across America and later China Wall Run. It was during his work as a publicist that Hugh discovered Y2K, which led him to write his first book, “A Survival Manual for Y2K & Beyond.” The book gained widespread recognition and was featured on CNN, Fox, and internationally syndicated shows such as Coast to Coast AM. This marked the beginning of Hugh’s third career as a Situational Awareness, Preparedness, and Survival Skills consultant. He went on to write several books in this niche, including “Xtreme Preparedness™ on Land & Sea” under his pen name, MR Valentine. Hugh also became a guest columnist for Survivors Edge magazine and the go-to expert on Coast to Coast AM for disaster preparedness.

For the past 23 years, Hugh has continued to focus on this niche, particularly as an expert on the current Grand Solar Minimum. According to solar physicist Dr. Zharkova’s algorithm, this is a regularly occurring event that began in late 2019 or early 2020. During the last Mini Ice Age, which lasted 35 years, 25% of the European population died of starvation and Arctic freezing temperatures. Hugh’s mission is to train Templar Warriors to help over 83,000,000 Americans who will be affected by this event.

Aside from his entrepreneurial ventures and work in disaster preparedness, Hugh also has a passion for music. In the 1960s, he worked as a rock DJ and spent time with legends such as Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Glenn Campbell, David Allen Coe, and more. Recently, Hugh has been learning to podcast for his new project, America’s Golden Music™, where he plans to interview living legends of 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s Rock N Roll.

INTERVIEW: It’s been a pleasure chatting with you Hugh we are excited to share you insights, knowledge and experience.

2021 and 2022 has been a tough year for business around the globe. In your experience can you share how businesses prosper in 2023?

I see that has a student of economics and history that this 2023 Recession/Depression along with the current Grand Solar Minimum effects starting to be felt and noticed around the world by especially agriculture experts and farmers we are in a PERFECT STORM! It is the time to determine how we are going to perform what I am calling the Grand Solar Minimum Migration to SAFE AREAS I have researched. I have developed what I call our Raptor BioDome™deploying a revolutionary solution for the shortening of the growing season that will dramatically reduce food for those effected. So FOOD and SHELTER are going to areas that must be researched further by what I call a BRAINTRUST.

The economy has been turned on it’s head in the wake of the pandemic. What should businesses focus on in 2023?

Getting PREPARED to ride out the 35 years of the current Grand Solar Minimum has to be the FOCUS of businesses. It has to be handled like a MISSION Special Forces personnel train and then carry out. I have been fortunate to be mentored by retired Special Forces operators in my Situational Awareness, Preparedness and Survival Skills.

What are the pro’s & con’s of working from home and have you any first hand experience?

I have not worked in an office for literally decades! I have instead worked at home and even out of a tent in the western North Carolina mountains for 6 months! I wanted to show my worldwide clients I could do what I taught even at 67 years young in 17 degree snow! You MUST BE DISCIPLINED and LASER FOCUSED to work at home. Plus you MUST set limits on who and when people or family can interrupt you!

How can business owners combat the rise of inflation and what have you done that you can share?

First as a former consumer reporter one has to CUT UNNECESSARY expenses and second stay within the BUDGET you have set!

If it means moving from your fancy office to one of those shared facilities or even home then you need to get your EGO under control!

If you still think you need the office, then you need to cut out the expensive perks for yourself and office staff.

In the last 5 years we have seen the rise to Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, NFT’s, Digital Marketing and many more! What do you think will impact the world most in regards to online selling?

Most important effect will be cutting out the marketing HYPE and staying LASER FOCUSED on providing what YOUR customers want! You have to park your EGO OUTSIDE the door!

Plus you MUST provide REAL USABLE CONTENT on your website. I am providing a FREE copy of my Templar Warriors Manual Part 1 introducing potential Templar Warriors to what is Situational Awareness, Preparedness and Survival Skills. I hope then they want the rest of the content in Part 2 I also send for FREE.

My most exciting aspect I see in Blockchain is the ability to create iron clad CONTRACTS!

We will have to see where cryptocurrencies go after this recent scenario. Fortunately one of my long time consultants on online and offline security advised me to steer clear of crypto! He consults billionaires, Hollywood A listed people and pro athletes. By the way he has decided to prepare to survive the Grand Solar Minimum!

On a more subtle note. If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive who would it be and why?

First and foremost my KING JESUS, King Solomon for his Proverbs I have read over and over and Sir Richard Branson for his entrepreneurial journey and his ability to find SOLUTIONS.

Reading is still one of the most popular ways to learn anything. What is your most recommended book(s) by who and what did you learn from them?

The ONE Thing by Gary Keller, co-founder of Keller Williams. I learned that once you FOCUS on that ONE Thing everything else becomes either easier or unnecessary.

Of course it goes without saying Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill that I read in 1973 in grad school. I had NEVER heard of a GOAL and certainly not how to set one and achieve it! I also had my first opportunity to learn about what today is called neuroscience when I read: WHATEVER the human mind can BELIEVE it can ACHIEVE.

Wallace Wattles’ The SCIENCE of Getting Rich. Again another introduction to what is today neuroscience. BTW I read everything I can on neuroscience and neuroplasticity.

It is not a book but HUNDREDS of YouTube videos from the incredible young multi-millionaires of ALUX. I watch one of their videos they create daily. They have +4,000,000 subscribers! They began about a decade ago in Romania growing up under Communism. They decided they would NEVER live out the rest of their young lives like this! They earned their wealth the old fashion way through investing in the S&P 500 and real estate. I am even a subscriber to their app at $14.95 monthly.

What is your purpose for getting out of bed each day and what do you aim to achieve in the future?

My PURPOSE is to reach as many people in the path of this current Grand Solar Minimum and then train them how to prepare and most importantly SURVIVE it for first their loved ones, friends and community!
