Amos Beer: Strategic Growth Expert and Founder of Stratagility Ltd.

Amos Beer is an experienced business mentor, author, and founder of Stratagility Ltd., a consultancy dedicated to helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) achieve sustainable growth. With a career that spans senior executive roles across a variety of industries, Amos brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning and business development. His expertise lies in simplifying the complexities of business growth by creating actionable strategies that are easy to implement.

Driven by his mission to bridge the gap between strategy and execution, Amos developed the Stratagility® process a tailored approach designed to help SMEs succeed through practical, results-focused planning. Amos has become a trusted advisor to business leaders, empowering companies to set realistic goals, involve their teams in the planning process, and follow a structured path to growth.

In addition to his consulting work, Amos is an advocate for business education. He hosts a podcast titled “The Voice of Experience” and has authored a book that provides a comprehensive guide for micro-businesses to implement strategic growth independently. Known for his no-nonsense approach, Amos has earned a reputation as a leader who ensures that every strategic plan is not only created but also executed effectively.

Amos’s vision is to make strategic growth accessible for businesses of all sizes, helping them overcome challenges and unlock their full potential. Through Stratagility Ltd., Amos continues to redefine the role of strategy in driving business success.

Table of Contents

In the ever-changing world of business, strategic planning often marks the fine line between success and failure. At the forefront of helping companies thrive is Amos Beer, founder of Stratagility Ltd., a firm committed to empowering businesses through sustainable growth strategies. With a rich career spanning local and global companies, and experience across various industries in C-suite roles, Amos has become a trusted mentor and advisor for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide.

The Journey from Corporate to Consultancy

Amos Beer’s career has been nothing short of diverse. Holding senior executive roles in multiple industries, he witnessed first-hand the shortcomings of traditional strategic planning. His corporate experience revealed one of the critical failures: a disconnect between strategy and execution. “I have witnessed two failed strategic planning processes at large companies,” Amos recalls. “And when I transitioned to working with SMEs, I realised many businesses had no strategic plan at all, relying only on basic business plans.”

This eye-opening realisation led Amos to develop Stratagility®, a strategic growth process tailored to the unique needs of SMEs. Stratagility® focuses on practical, results-driven strategies rather than theoretical models. As Amos explains, “Too often, companies spend time and money on plans that don’t work because they focus on models and acronyms rather than substance.”

Stratagility®: The Solution SMEs Need

Stratagility® is more than just a strategic framework—it is a growth process designed to guide SMEs through the stages of sustainable development. According to Amos, the process is simple but effective: start with a dream, involve the entire team in planning, and execute through actionable steps. “The key is taking small, manageable steps,” Amos advises. “You can’t overwhelm your team with too many strategic tasks at once. Focus on 12-month plans, broken down into quarters, with weekly tasks that are reviewed regularly.”

One of the unique aspects of Stratagility® is its focus on execution. “The biggest reason strategic plans fail is that they are not executed properly,” says Amos. “A good strategy must be actionable, and companies need a mentor to hold them accountable.”

For SMEs, Stratagility® provides an affordable and adaptable solution, offering structure without over-complicating the process. Its success has been evident across numerous industries, helping businesses grow without losing sight of their core values or overburdening their teams.

Overcoming Challenges in the Industry

Amos’s work with SMEs hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the most significant hurdles he faces is changing the mindset of business owners. Many SMEs believe that strategic planning is only for large corporations, while others are so focused on day-to-day operations that they struggle to see the bigger picture. “Most businesses don’t realise they need a good look in the mirror until they are already in crisis mode, bailing water instead of fixing the sails,” Amos notes.

To combat this, Amos focuses on education. He has delivered workshops, partnered with co-working spaces, and even launched a podcast titled “The Voice of Experience” on Spotify. By spreading awareness about the importance of strategic growth, Amos hopes to change the perception that strategic planning is only for big businesses.

Amos has also published a book, offering a comprehensive guide to Stratagility® for micro-businesses that may want to implement the process independently.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Strategic Growth

Amos’s vision for the future of strategic planning is grounded in realism. “Companies will continue to waste time and money on ineffective plans because they don’t know any better,” he says. However, he remains hopeful that Stratagility® will continue to grow as a go-to solution for SMEs.

Amos also envisions a future where business mentorship becomes an integral part of strategic growth processes. “No one succeeds without external accountability,” he asserts. By expanding the reach of Stratagility® and offering more mentorship opportunities, Amos aims to help even more businesses navigate the complexities of growth in a constantly evolving market.

Final Thoughts: Leadership Rooted in Experience

With his extensive experience across various industries and an innovative approach to strategic planning, Amos Beer has redefined what it means to be a business mentor. Through Stratagility®, he has offered a clear path for SMEs to achieve sustainable growth, proving that the right strategy doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective.

His ongoing work as a mentor, author, and podcast host continues to provide valuable insights for business leaders everywhere. Whether you’re a small business owner looking to scale or a seasoned executive facing new challenges, Amos’s guidance offers practical, actionable steps toward success.

Q&A with Amos Beer: Insights on Strategic Growth and Mentorship

Q: What inspired you to create Stratagility® and focus on SMEs?
A: I saw firsthand the gaps in traditional strategic planning, especially for SMEs. Most small businesses don’t have the resources to invest in large, complex plans, and often they don’t see the need for strategy until they’re facing a crisis. I developed Stratagility® to provide practical, affordable, and actionable steps that any business can implement.

Q: How does Stratagility® differ from traditional strategic planning models?
A: Traditional models often focus on theoretical frameworks and can be overwhelming for small teams. Stratagility® focuses on execution—breaking down long-term goals into manageable steps. It’s about what you can do in the next 12 months, not just the next 10 years. We also emphasize regular review and accountability, which is often missing in standard models.

Q: What are the most common mistakes businesses make when it comes to strategic planning?
A: One of the biggest mistakes is thinking that strategy is just for large corporations. Many SMEs run without any strategic planning, relying on reactive decision-making. Another issue is poor execution—having a plan on paper isn’t enough. You need the right processes and accountability measures to see it through.

Q: How important is mentorship in business growth?
A: Mentorship is crucial. No one succeeds alone, and having someone to guide you, provide feedback, and hold you accountable can make all the difference. I’ve seen businesses fail not because of a lack of ideas, but because they didn’t have someone to help them navigate the challenges. Mentorship brings clarity and direction.

Q: What advice would you give to businesses looking to scale?
A: Start with a clear vision, involve your team in the planning process, and break everything down into actionable steps. Don’t try to do everything at once—focus on 12-month goals and review progress regularly. And most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Having a mentor or advisor can be the key to unlocking sustainable growth.
