Mercedes has very clear plans. The company’s EQ lineup continues to work toward parity with gasoline vehicles, and the automaker will eventually turn consumer cars into electronically powered ones. The latest piece in that scheme is his EQE SUV, a larger, taller version of the EQE sedan. Both are eco-friendly cousins of the E-Class and bring what you like (and what you don’t like) about the EQS to a wider audience.
Starting at $77,900, the EQE SUV won’t wow you if you’ve literally been behind the wheel of any other Mercedes EV. Instead, the mid-range luxury EV is a piece of a larger puzzle. That’s not to say the car doesn’t live up to Mercedes-Benz’s promise of a luxury car. It does this without the buyer having to break the $100,000 mark for an electric SUV.
It has a comfortable cabin, smooth ride, tight but comfortable steering and of course the MBUX infotainment system with in-car voice control that really works. All three trim levels have over 250 miles of range, and rear-wheel steering is definitely a good value option. That said, we’re still not fans of the brakes.Hyperscreen could have watched a movie while shotgunning through Portugal on a passenger screen, but it still feels like a lot of hype For more on the first drive of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, check out the video below.
