Official reviews of Tesla’s Cybertruck continue to arrive, and so far, the massive stainless steel truck has mostly lived up to the hype.
recent reviews bloomberg and wall street journal We praise the Cybertruck’s smooth ride, tight handling at low speeds, and design and engineering achievements.
Like the truck itself, the complaints are pretty unique compared to typical pickup truck reviews. Bloomberg took issue with the trucks’ easily dirty exteriors and their tendency to attract unwanted attention.
Constantly checking the Cybertruck’s exterior for dirt and fingerprints is “like trying to remove dog hair from a coat. It’s tedious, and there’s always one more thing you miss,” says the reporter. Hannah Elliott writes.
Much has been said about Tesla’s choice to use stainless steel, with industry experts predicting before the truck’s release that it would probably get dirty quickly.
But WSJ’s Dan Neal believes these concerns are at odds with the solid reputation the Cybertruck is trying to cultivate.
“Well, can you even hear yourself?” Neil wrote. “Most bullish four-wheel-drive vehicles you see on the road never leave the asphalt for fear of scratching the glossy, fingerprint-resistant surface.”
Neil’s takeaway: The Cybertruck is an on-road performance vehicle, not an off-road vehicle.
In his review, Elliott thinks driving a Cybertruck in Hollywood is similar to roaming the streets as a celebrity. Her iPhone lens followed her from every angle as the men in her hardware store parking lot, eager to see the inside of the truck, rushed Ms. Elliott out of the truck.
Even before its release, the Cybertruck captured the attention of the Internet, with each new photo garnering thousands of opinions online from enthusiastic contributors.
In Elliott’s experience, the reaction to the truck was polarizing, with as many detractors as fans of the giant electric truck.
“If you own a troll, you have to have thick skin, especially if you post photos of the troll online that are particularly toxic,” Elliott wrote. “The Cybertruck makes as many people cringe as it applauds.”
