One can only assume that the warm relationship between former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk was due to eggs, bacon, and fruit on a Sunday morning.
The couple met with Nelson Peltz in March at Peltz’s Mont Sorel estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The Wall Street Journal reported. According to the Wall Street Journal, the three discussed this fall’s presidential election and were similarly critical of President Joe Biden’s administration.
The meeting was first reported in March by The New York Times, which said Trump solicited large contributions for his campaign from several Republican donors who attended the meeting.
Also on the agenda was a “data-driven” project to combat voter fraud that Peltz and Musk have been discussing, and which Musk first mentioned to Trump at the breakfast, according to the Journal. Voter fraud is rare in the US, but it has become a concern for Trump since he falsely claimed he won the 2020 presidential election.
The three billionaires also brought their sons to the breakfast: Nelson’s son Diesel Peltz, the former president’s 18-year-old son Barron Trump, and Musk’s toddler X were also in attendance at the event, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The meeting was an example of an apparent turnaround in relations between Musk and Trump, who only a few years ago was called a “bullshit chick.”
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Musk is currently under consideration to take on a role advising Trump if he is re-elected in November.
“President Trump will have sole say over what role individuals play in the presidency,” Trump campaign spokesman Brian Hughes told The Wall Street Journal following reports about the breakfast and Musk’s potential role in the White House.
Representatives for the Trump campaign and Musk did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s requests for comment.
