ASUS has unveiled a slew of new laptops at the Computex tech expo in Taipei this week, including a refresh of its Zenbook line. The Zenbook S16 is as sleek and well-designed as ever, but it now comes with a series of iterative improvements and some major updates.
It’s powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, announced just a few hours ago. The chip promises to improve laptop AI performance with 50 TOPS of processing power, three times more than AMD’s previous laptop hardware, making it a good fit for Copilot+. This means that Microsoft’s AI assistant isn’t just coming from Qualcomm.
Best of all, this laptop is incredibly thin and light for a 16″ model, weighing just over 3 pounds and measuring just 1.1 cm (0.4 inches) thick. The cooling system has also been improved, with new top vents and an ultra-thin vapor chamber. Better cooling in a laptop is always welcome.
It has the same distinctive aluminum ceramic coating as last year’s Zenbook 14X, but ASUS has renamed the finish to, well, “Ceraluminum.” What a cool coinage.
It has a 16-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The 78Wh battery is perfect for all-day use, and the Harman Kardon six-speaker setup will definitely keep the music flowing. It also supports Wi-Fi 7, has up to 2TB of solid-state storage, and can be equipped with up to 32GB of RAM.
Pricing for the ASUS Zenbook S16 starts at $1,400 and pre-orders are available now. Best Buy It is white or grey in colour.
