Apple’s AI plans go beyond the previously announced Apple Intelligence releases for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Bloomberg’s Mark GurmanThe company is also working to bring these features to its Vision Pro headsets.
This isn’t a particularly surprising move: if Apple Intelligence (a suite of features that includes an improved Siri, proofing tools, and custom emoji) is key to Apple’s future, why isn’t it available in all of Apple’s latest products? But while there’s a lot to like about the Vision Pro, it’s still a very expensive device that’s (for now) only available to a select few.
Apple Intelligence won’t be released on Vision Pro this year, Gurman said, and Apple’s main challenge here is to rethink how features will look in mixed reality, rather than on a MacBook or iPhone screen.
Speaking of selling the Vision Pro, Gurman reports that Apple will also be making changes to how it demos the headset in stores, adding the ability for potential buyers to watch personal media on the Vision Pro, and changing the headband from a solo loop to a dual loop for added comfort.
New rumors about Apple Analyst Ming-Chi KuoHe said that after a recent supply chain review, he believes the company plans to mass produce AirPods with infrared cameras by 2026. The new AirPods could potentially support new spatial audio experiences and gesture controls when used with Vision Pro.
