Cybersecurity Company Crowdstrike The company told NBC that a major outage occurred on Friday that affected businesses around the world.
The company said the outage was caused by an issue with the latest update. Crowdstrike Work is currently underway to roll back that update globally.
The confirmation came after widespread reports of technical issues around the world, many of which were linked to Microsoft products. The US tech giant confirmed on Friday that its cloud services had been largely restored after experiencing an outage.
“CrowdStrike is aware of reports of crashes on Windows hosts related to the Falcon Sensor,” CrowdStrike said in a recorded message.
Australian telecommunications company Telstra said some of its systems were being disrupted by global issues affecting CrowdStrike and Microsoft.
“This issue is causing delays for some customers and we appreciate your patience,” a company spokesman said.
CNBC’s parent company, NBCUniversal, was one of the companies affected by the CrowdStrike outage.
