With less than three months to go until Election Day, national polls show the race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump is extremely close. Five Thirty EightNationally, Harris has a slight lead of 3.3 percentage points over Trump at 47% to 43.7%, according to the poll tracker, which compiles national and statewide polls.
Because the state of the economy and its future are top of mind for both Democratic and Republican voters, we asked our entrepreneurial community which they think is better for small businesses in a poll posted on X and Instagram.
The results differed significantly from national polls, with Trump winning by large margins on both platforms: Of the 422 votes cast on X, Trump won with 69.7% of the vote. Similarly, on Instagram, of the 389 votes cast, 66% went in favor of Trump.

Neither candidate has yet released a detailed economic plan for small businesses, but during campaign stops in Pennsylvania this week, Trump told the audience:“Our plan will slash taxes, unlock American energy, slash regulations, crack down on trade fraud, stop outsourcing, rebuild our industrial base and bring back those beautiful words: ‘Made in the USA.'”

Harris has been criticized for not giving any major interviews since announcing her candidacy.
