The trailer for the new series brings back the popular Harry Potter parody “Misfits and Magic,” showing four American exchange students getting up to magical shenanigans at the Gorpenny Academy of Arcane Arts, a British wizarding school.
This second season of “Misfits and Magic” is set three years after the events of the first season and will be gamemastered by Aabria Iyengar, known for her enigmatic storytelling in “Critical Role” and the podcast “Worlds Beyond Number.”
The original Misfits will also be reprising their roles.
Regular D20 game master Brennan Lee Mulligan will be returning as Evan Kellum, an orphan from Millersburg, Iowa. Lou Wilson, a core member of the original D20 cast, will be returning as Whitney Jamar, a high school basketball player from Chicago. Erika Ishii and Daniel Radford will be returning as K, an aspiring wizard and online fangirl, and Sam Black, an online streamer from Portland.
D20 just finished airing Mulligan’s 10-episode action movie-style series, Never Stop Blowing Up.
And there’s plenty more to look forward to for D20 fans in the coming months.
“We have a lot of plans in the works, it’s very exciting – some worlds being revisited, some entirely new,” Mulligan told Business Insider in August. “Stay tuned for some big announcements in 2025, and we’ll see you at Madison Square Garden in January.”
“Misfits and Magic” season 2 will begin on September 25. It will consist of 11 episodes and will air every Wednesday.
