"Are You a CEO, Director, or Founder interested in a Feature Interview?"
All Interviews are 100% FREE of Charge
Founded in 2018, Willo provides companies in over 180 countries with technology to conduct and process video interviews for job candidates. The Glasgow, Scotland-based startup works with brands such as Prada, Samsung, and Toyota to streamline the hiring process.
Willo started as a tool for companies to hire sales teams without having to sift through reams of resumes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company pivoted to become a solution for remote hiring using video technology. The company offers one-way, pre-recorded video interviews to help employers get fair and consistent answers from candidates. According to Willo’s presentation, the company’s platform has been used to hire 633,000 people.
“We’ve now grown into a more mature product that allows companies to conduct interviews in different ways,” Willo CEO Euan McAmeron told Business Insider. “We now use data from thousands of interviews to help employers see candidate profiles and ask questions using AI.”
The company is ISO 20071 certified, an independent information security standard, but there is still room to expand its offering and grow, McCameron added.
The new funding comes in the form of $2.4 million in equity financing, with most of the capital coming from the family office of Peter Bauer, co-founder and former CEO of IT security company Mimecast, and additional funding from existing investors. This brings Willo’s total funding to $4.5 million.
McCameron said Willo is looking to expand in the U.S., increasing its workforce from about 15 to 25 employees and establishing a larger footprint.
