- AI chatbot ChatGPT has the potential to shake up the world of work.
- One job seeker, Yary Rivera, told Insider that he used ChatGPT to write cover letters for 20 job openings.
- She has already had one interview and recommends others to use a chatbot for her cover letter.
Yary Rivera, 28, is looking for a job. And she employs her ChatGPT as a helper.
User experience and user interface (or UX/UI) designer Rivera says he uses an AI chatbot to create cover letters as he navigates the search process. I started using it about a month ago after seeing his LinkedIn connection post about ChatGPT.
“Curiosity won out, of course,” she said. “I noticed that this is an AI program and there are examples of prompts. I started reading them and this is that you can use this to your advantage in some way, in some way.”
That advantage came when I saw another post on LinkedIn about using a chatbot to write a cover letter. In her field, the portfolio showcases the work you have done and your abilities. The cover letter was “a little redundant,” she said.
“So I thought, if my job requires me to submit a cover letter, why not make this easy for me and my company and start using ChatGPT?” she said.
That’s what Rivera has been doing. She estimates that she used ChatGPT to create about 20 cover letters of hers. She said she has had one interview so far.
She is one of many workers who are beginning to feel the potential impact chatbots have on the world of work and how it operates. ChatGPT may replace some jobs. You can make it easier for others. And yes, now we use it to help some applicants get those jobs in the first place, including Rivera.
“I think it’s great. I don’t think it’s going to take people’s jobs,” Rivera said.

“You have to be very specific about what you’re looking for,” she said. Add a descriptor for She then prompts the chatbot to write her cover letter.
“Usually you only have to edit a few lines and it actually gets better the more you use it,” she said. “I thought it was really interesting to see this. I don’t have to do much editing anymore.”
She feels like chatbots are finally starting to give AI tools the best possible response, which she thinks is “pretty amazing.” She said the more she spoke, the better she could answer.
While it may not be the case for everyone, she understands the importance of a supplemental cover letter for anyone transitioning into a new field or writing-heavy role, but she It is a fan for people in the field of
She believes chatbots will ultimately force us to rethink how the job search process works. People in her field have already turned their backs on cover letters, and overworked recruiters may find that cover letters that come above portfolios and resumes were written by her AI. yeah. She believes it can also be used for feedback on the interview process. She just gives the transcript and asks for its thoughts.
“Obviously, the program isn’t perfect. It doesn’t always give you the right answer, but in my experience it works very well,” she said.
