Get ready, Starbucks Rewards members! Starbucks is committed to its popular loyalty program. (Did you know that he has over 16 million Starbucks Rewards members?)
After February 13, 2023, the value of the coveted Points (aka Stars) in this program will decrease.
Most notably, a 100% increase in Stars required for Brewed Coffee, Tea, and Bakery items (from 50 to 100 Stars), and a 33% increase in Stars required for Handcrafted Beverages and Hot Breakfast items (from 150 to 200 stars) is what I did.
One positive change is the reduction in stars required for packaged coffee (such as whole grain coffee) from 400 to 300.
First, there are no changes to the redemption levels of 25 Stars or 400 Stars.
25 star Can be redeemed for any of the following beverage modifiers:
- Add an espresso shot, add syrup or sauce (e.g. caramel syrup)
- Dairy alternatives (soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk, etc.)
400 stars You can redeem it for any of the following:
- Select Merchandise Items up to $20
Important changes to the Starbucks Rewards program include:
Starting February 13, 2023, we’re making significant changes to how members redeem their Stars.
100 star You can redeem one of the following items:
- hot brew coffee, hot tea tea, ice brew coffee or ice brew tea
- Bakery items (cake pops, cookies, etc.)
- Packaged snacks (popcorn, potato chips, etc.)
- One Cold Siren Logo Plastic To-Go Cup (24oz) again 1 siren logo plastic hot cup (16 oz)
200 stars You can redeem one of the following items:
- Handcrafted beverages (such as lattes and frappuccino blends)
- Hot breakfast items (such as breakfast sandwiches and oatmeal)
300 stars You can redeem one of the following items:
- Packaged salad or lunch sandwich
- packaged protein box
- Packaged coffee items (such as whole bean coffee)

Are there any changes to how members earn Stars?
No, the way members earn stars is the same. Earn 2 stars for every dollar spent with your Starbucks Card or 1 star for every dollar spent with your linked payment method.
