Almost every music streaming service on the market offers a radio feature that lets you automatically create playlists of your favorite songs and artists. However, most of the time these features are inflexible. Just like with Spotify or Apple Music, you just pick one song or artist and the platform takes care of the rest.
Google has started rolling out a redesigned radio feature in YouTube Music. The company claims it gives users more control over their listening experience. Among the new features included in the updated experience is the ability to pick up to 30 artists when creating your own radio station. You can also apply filters that determine how often these artists repeat and change the mood of the resulting playlist. up” is included.
You can also tap the “Tune” option that appears at the bottom of the interface while listening to your new playlist to adjust the parameters you set after creating the station. Of course, you can also save stations and revisit them later. When a new experience is available on your device, you’ll see a prompt to “Create a radio” on the main interface. As with many rollouts from Google, it may take some time for the feature to appear in clients.
It’s fair to say that this feature alone isn’t enough to convince people to ditch Spotify and Apple Music for YouTube Music. Convert a free trial you get more often or on your phone into a paid subscription.
