The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has accused Trump of nearly five years after Trump’s former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, admitted to arranging hush money payments for two women, including Daniels, in August 2018. It has been investigating business and personal finances.When Cohen pleaded guilty in federal court, he claimed Trump directed the payments.
That investigation culminated Thursday after it was reported that a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict Trump.
The exact culprit is still unknown, but A source told CNN Trump faces more than 30 counts, including minor felonies.
The Times said the news of Trump’s indictment came as a “shock” to Daniels. “There were no warnings,” she said.
Recently, Daniels took to social media to applaud Trump supporters. When the indictment was reported, Daniels said there was a spike in “Team Stormy” merchandise purchases.
Hours after the indictment was reported, she began receiving violent threats on “all social media platforms, emails and phone calls,” according to The Times.
