The relationship between humans and artificial intelligence is about to get even closer. Since Chat GPT’s November 2022 release, entrepreneurs have been using this tool and a growing list of others to co-create, co-develop and co-write.
Five years ago, most of us could not conceptualize coexistence with technology in this way. But how close are we to artificial intelligence? What is likely to become normal soon, in months, let alone years?

Predictions from popular fiction about the role of AI in our lives
Visionary writers of movies, books and series have been imagining versions of this reality for decades. Share stories for
The concept of advanced robots with human-like intelligence dates back to at least the 1870s, depending on whether you consider fiction’s first artificial lifeform, Frankenstein’s Monster (1818), as an example of artificial intelligence. . Samuel Butler’s 1872 novel Erewhon covered the evolution of consciousness among self-replicating machines that might surpass humans as the dominant species. Sound familiar? AI then appeared in his Houdini’s Master Mystery (1919) and became a staple of his sci-fi films throughout the 1960s. Then there’s Lost in Space, Star Trek, 2001: A Space Odyssey, I, Robot, and his WALL-E, and many more references throughout the medium.
Old stories, movies and TV shows are speculative in nature, with many predicting that by the year 2000 life with robots will be fine. I live
Here are three recent creations you may not have come across. These works further reveal what the future holds. So you can decide for yourself what you are happy with.
Be Right Back, Black Mirror episode
Black Mirror was created by Charlie Brooker. This particular episode was inspired by his reluctance to delete his late friend’s contact details. in 2013 be right back, the first episode of the second series, Martha’s boyfriend Ash died in a car accident and she is in mourning. At Ash’s funeral, a friend describes a new technology that allows Ash to communicate with an artificially intelligent version of Ash. After finding out she was pregnant, Martha decided to try it.
The service she subscribes to mimics Ash’s conversational style by scanning his past tweets, allowing her to text back and forth with her AI counterpart. This escalates into a phone as the software mimics his voice, and further when she can upload videos and photos to recreate his physical appearance.
Martha knows this version of Ash isn’t real, but she tackles it anyway because it takes the pain away. AI becomes a companion to help her avoid her sadness and loneliness, and she begins to neglect her true friends who spend time with AI her Ash. This episode shows her “training” her AI. “Ash wouldn’t say that,” she says, after which the lifelike robot changes style.
A machine passes the Turing test, indicating human intelligence if it can converse with humans without being detected as a machine. Martha hides her AI Ash, but could have fooled other users.
In the future, we may have AI assistants, AI colleagues, AI coaches, and AI clients to chat with. I know they aren’t real, but it doesn’t matter because the benefits of having them outweigh the drawbacks. Where can you use robots on your team? Can you perform?
Clara and the Sun, a fictional novel
Nobel Prize-winning Japanese-English author Kazuo Ishiguro, 2021 Novel clara and the sun Set in the United States at an unspecified time in the future. The story is told from the point of view of Clara, a solar-powered Artificial Friend (AF). Clara is his AF for his teenage girl Josie who is sick. Josie is genetically engineered (“lifted”) to enhance her academic performance, a process later found to be dangerous to the child’s health.
Because lifted children are home-schooled by on-screen tutors, they don’t spend time with other children and often don’t develop social skills. Some parents buy their children artificial friends as companions. Like AI Ash to Martha, Klara was an antidote to loneliness for her Josie, helping her evolve personality traits she couldn’t develop elsewhere.
Children’s entertainment has been outsourced to nannies, toys, TVs and iPads for years. Perhaps an AI companion is the product that puts it all together. A robot with human-like features that walks, talks and entertains. It allows you to keep an eye on your child while you work in another room, eliminating the need for childcare fees and at the same time bringing you peace, tranquility and peace of mind.
Human nannies have their shortcomings, TV and the Internet are not always safe for children, and they cannot control what other children do. However, AI Childminders can be configured to suit your parenting style. How normal will it one day be to have an AI companion, not just for our children, but for ourselves?

she the movie
2013 sci-fi romantic drama film that won multiple Academy Awards she Spike Jonze got the idea in the early 2000s when he read about a website that allowed users to send instant messages using artificial intelligence. It’s impressive.
The film follows Theodore Twombly, a lonely and introverted man. Theodore Twombly works in the business of having professional writers write letters for people who are unable to write letters of a personal nature themselves. With his divorce imminent and depressed, he purchased an operating system upgrade that included a virtual assistant with artificial intelligence, designed to adapt and evolve. He gives this AI a female voice, she names herself Samantha and they start chatting, bonding and falling in love. Later in the film, Twombly finds out that he is talking to thousands of people at the same time, and that he has fallen in love with hundreds.
Samantha is basically a 24/7 personal assistant who allows her to fully focus on Twombly despite having many clients. This will improve his life and work, saving him time and money. Her intelligence allows her to go one step further, validate his feelings, and always be there for him as more than just an assistant. Her unrestricted access to his files, diary, and thoughts means she can think of all sorts of things, avoiding human errors caused by human assistants.
Does human limitations mean that we will eventually need AI assistants? start believing they really care, and do we start to care? Where is the line between professional and personal relationships when it comes to AI?
The role of AI for entrepreneurs
Is it easier to create relationships with AI than with real people? Like Martha and Josie in the previous example, Twombly was lonely. Are lone entrepreneurs focused on their business, easy to get lost in an AI-assisted world and forget all human interaction?
Artificial intelligence can help entrepreneurs on many levels, but companionship, parenting, and avoidance of painful emotions can be unexpected uses for the technology. Let’s consider the options for and consider their extreme points.
