HP is once again revamping its Envy laptop line, but this time it’s more about who the company works with than the raw specs. Headliner’s Envy x360 15.6-inch convertible is being billed as the first IMAX Enhanced-certified PC. If you buy the version with the OLED screen (only 1080p, oddly enough), you’ll be able to watch Disney+ movies at a higher ratio with DTS:X spatial audio. No, but there is also the promise of exclusive remastered HDR content.
Of course, there are other reasons to consider HP’s latest model. Both the 15.6-inch and the new 14-inch Envy x360 have improved screen-to-body ratios, the latest processors (13th Gen Intel Core in both, AMD’s Ryzen in the 15.6-inch), and upgraded upgrades with a manual privacy shutter. A built-in webcam and an auto-lock/wake feature to protect your machine while you’re away. The larger two-in-one also has the option of GeForce RTX 3050 graphics versus the older model RTX 2050 (sorry, no RTX 4050 here) and up to 15 hours of battery versus 10 on its predecessor. Get more out of life. Two x360s top out with 16 GB of RAM.
The only previous laptop update, the Envy 17.3-inch (pictured center), shares the camera, 13th Gen Core, and RTX 3050 graphics available in the x360 15.6-inch. Battery life is increased by 30 minutes (9 times total). However, his 32GB RAM cap and optional 4K LCD can help if you’re thrashing through intensive apps.
The Envy x360 14-inch is shipping now with a starting price of $850. A corresponding 15.6-inch will arrive by the end of April with a $950 entry point. You’ll have to wait until May to get Envy 17. Prices start at $1,150. These aren’t radical revisions, but if you need to watch the latest Marvel movies in the highest quality possible, an IMAX-certified laptop might be worth considering, at least unless you want 4K. yeah.
