In this week’s Crypto Biz, we look at the latest developments in the burgeoning AI market, MicroStrategy’s integration with the Bitcoin Lightning Network, and Microsoft’s efforts to power AI development.

Artificial intelligence (AI) may soon answer profound philosophical questions. Finding out what the truth is will be the focus of Elon Musk’s new endeavor his TruthGPT. TruthGPT is an AI dedicated to discovering the fundamental nature of the universe and combating the industry’s alleged “left-wing” bias.

Microsoft is developing its own AI chip to power ChatGPT

Since 2019, Microsoft has been developing its own artificial intelligence chip, helping cut mounting costs for both its own and OpenAI projects and reducing its reliance on Nvidia’s GPUs. The move reflects the chip shortages that have affected many industries around the world during the pandemic. One of his most popular GPUs for training machine learning systems, the Nvidia H100 can be purchased by him for $40,000 on reseller services such as eBay amid growing market rarity.

MicroStrategy’s Saylor Merges Work Email Addresses with Bitcoin Lightning

MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor has revealed the integration of email addresses and the Bitcoin Lightning Network. This allows transactions using emails instead of wallet addresses. In a screenshot, Saylor showed some transactions sent to the company’s email account in the form of satoshi, the smallest unit of Bitcoin (BTC). Not sure if the solution is available for his other MicroStrategy email address. Lightning Network is a popular Bitcoin scaling solution that allows him to process 1 million transactions per second at a cost of 1 satoshi per transaction.

Elon Musk launches truth-seeking artificial intelligence platform TruthGPT

Elon Musk is developing a ChatGPT competitor known as “TruthGPT”. This is a large scale language model trained to explore the “nature of the universe”. In an interview with American cable his network Fox News, Musk said his truth-seeking AI also fights back against what he perceives as “left-wing” bigotry in the industry. According to Musk, ChatGPT is “programmed by left-wing experts who train chatbots to lie.” This isn’t the first time Musk has attacked his ChatGPT. He recently spearheaded a letter calling for a halt to advanced AI development, alleging societal concerns.

Before you go: OpenAI must comply with EU law by April 30, experts say ‘nearly impossible’

OpenAI faces its biggest regulatory challenge as Italian authorities claim it must comply with local and European data protection and privacy laws by April 30th. EU law requires technology companies to seek user consent to use personal data for training. Businesses operating in Europe must also allow Europeans to opt out of data collection and sharing. Experts say this will be difficult as OpenAI’s models are trained on large amounts of data scraped from the internet and consolidated into training sets.
