As rescue teams frantically search for the missing Ocean Gate submarine in an Atlantic Ocean the size of Connecticut, a Canadian plane equipped with sonar “detected underwater noise in the search area,” said the U.S. coast. The police made the announcement on Twitter.
A Canadian P-3 aircraft detected underwater noise in the search area. As a result, ROV operations were modified to investigate the source of the noise. These ROV searches have yielded negative results but continue. 1/2

The Coast Guard did not provide further information about the detected sound or how it was picked up.

US and Canadian aircraft are scanning the submarine’s surface, and sonar buoys are rapping the ocean floor.
The Titan submarine, carrying five notable tourists, began its journey to the wreckage of the Titanic on Sunday morning. However, contact with a Canadian charter research vessel was lost about 1 hour and 45 minutes after the start of the dive. International rescue teams scramble to locate the ship before it runs out of air.
