YouTube TV has expanded the range of multi-view features so that you don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy it. When the service launched multiview, it was able to display up to four sports streams on the screen at the same time. But now, in addition to sports streams, users will be able to choose from streams of news, business news, and weather content. Viewers will still have to choose from pre-selected videos and won’t be able to pick and choose which streams they want to watch in multiview, but at least they’ll have more choices and they should stick to aligning all four screens to sporting events. is gone.
The service debuted multiview with a sports focus in March, just in time for NCAA’s March Madness. Multiview is handled by the service’s servers and is supported by all smart TVs and media players that can run YouTube TV. Viewers can watch all four streams simultaneously while jumping to a full-screen view of each stream and switching audio and captions to events they want to focus on at that moment.
In addition to expanding its multi-view repertoire, YouTube TV is also adding Spanish sports channels to its pre-selected stream options for members with a Spanish or Spanish Plus plan. Some members may not have access to the expanded multi-view options yet, but they will soon. YouTube TV says it will gradually roll out these updates to all users over the summer.
