Popular Japanese animation studio Toei Animation recently launched “ImaginaryPark2070,” a gigantic virtual world inside the popular VR social platform. VRChat.
This massive ‘multiverse’ theme park features a variety of immersive entertainment, official Sony characters powered by conversational artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and more.
The world is made up of four main areas: 1956 Oizumi Gakuen Area, A virtual reproduction of Toei Animation Studio. Near future Shibuya area where you can interact with the exoskeleton suit “Ahan” expelled from paradise.
So much virtual territory to cover. Thankfully, we’re here to bring you the scoop on the coolest places and activities to check out in VR.
The first thing that caught my eye when I entered ImaginaryPark2070 was the artificial intelligence (AI) concierge. Welcoming visitors is memory Voice actress Momo Asakura bond You can talk about anything with voice actor Aki Yamane.
It’s important to note that these characters only speak Japanese and only appear in certain cases. So don’t be surprised if it doesn’t appear the first time you log in.
That said, even though we couldn’t speak Japanese, we were still able to understand the technology behind this talkative character. Being able to naturally chat with your favorite fictional anime characters is a great concept and we hope to extend it to English speaking users at some point in the near future.
The next thing you’ll notice about ImaginaryPark 2070 is its incredible size. The world is wide, that is TRUE big. Thankfully, you can fly around the world at incredible speeds if you find golden beams scattered around each location.
Fly over the tarmac of Haneda Airport, navigate the rooftops of the post-apocalyptic city of Shibuya inhabited by giant robots, stop by shows on the main stage, chat with various non-playable characters, and more. It was fun (NPC). Speaking of NPCs…
In addition to other users exploring the world, you can find a variety of faceless NPCs casually roaming nearly every corner of the map. Some of his NPCs hold clues to various Easter eggs scattered around the world, from light sticks and balloons to adorable dogs carved out of stone.
For example, after approaching a large pond near the center of the map, a character informed us that someone may have inadvertently lost a lightstick in the water. Curious, we dipped in for a bit, only to discover a secret underwater performance featuring a pod of virtual dolphins.
I found cute Easter eggs like this all over the map. Always keep an eye out and don’t be afraid to chat with other characters and gather clues. Here are some tips: Explore the alleyways of virtual Akihabara to find a specific conductor in need of help. I’m not going to spoil anything here, but let’s just say that these little activities will keep us exploring the world for hours and are definitely worth seeking out.
All in all, ImaginaryPark2070 is an incredibly well-crafted virtual space that will keep you going for quite some time. From incredibly unique locations to live events and hidden activities, ImaginaryPark2070 is a must-visit for any self-respecting anime fan. Anyone with a VR headset can have a great time at this sprawling virtual theme park.
