CEO Linda Yaccarino Company rebranded to ‘X’ and projected a new emblem to the company’s San Francisco headquarters. So far, instead of the bird on the top left of the website, a simple white-on-black logo has been used, and the two have it next to their names and blue check. Twitter official account renamed to X, with a new logo and an all-black background. At the time of publication, the blue bird is still visible in the browser icon, but that may change soon.
Musk has long had an affinity for the letter “X,” naming his banking startup x.com, which he founded in 1999, aerospace company SpaceX, and the more recent AI venture xAI. Musk and others have been vehemently arguing about Twitter’s future since he first took ownership, and the rebrand is no exception. “X is the future state of unlimited interactivity around audio, video, messaging and payments/banking, creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities,” said Yaccarino. twitter thread It repeats much of what Musk has said in the past. “AI-powered X will bring us all together in ways we started envisioning.”
