One of the most successful horror film franchises of the past 20 years is coming to a console near you. Paramount Game Studios has teamed up with his DreadXP and DarkStone Digital (aka solo developer Brian Clarke) to Paranormal Activity: Found Footage. It is expected to be released on multiple platforms in 2026.
Paranormal Activity: Found Footage builds on the lore and world established in the seven-film series released in 2007.
As the title suggests, this game uses the found footage format of movies. Other details are slim at the moment, but Paranormal Activity: Found Footage features what is said to be an advanced “ghost system” that dynamically changes the intensity and type of fear players face based on their actions. Some other games use dynamic fear systems. (an early access title that was talked about a few months ago) so it will be interesting to see how DarkStone Digital uses it here.
Clarke previously created a well-received first-person horror game. . “My latest project is a paranormal activity game,” said Clark, who is also co-director of publisher DreadXP. I wrote to X. “I’ve loved this series from the beginning and it’s really shaped my style of horror, so I’m really excited to be working on this series.”
