Mario Day, also known as MAR10 Day or simply March 10th, is fast approaching.this is the date Celebrating Nintendo’s iconic plumber. It’s not his birthday or anything, it’s just a random day on the calendar that looks like his name when spelled a certain way. Just like Star Wars Day is his May 4th.
Still, Nintendo has poured its corporate muscle into the celebration since 2015, offering Mario-themed experiences on its official store, discounts on games and various contests. In recent years, retailers have followed suit and reduced the prices of Nintendo products to coincide with March 10th. With that in mind, here are some great deals on MAR10 that are likely to make you say, “Wow!”
One of the notable deals is on the Switch itself. There is no actual discount on the unit, but each purchase includes a $25 gift card from the retailer of purchase.Participating retailers include: Amazon, best buy, game stop and the goal This promotion will run from March 10th to March 16th. The deal applies to Nintendo’s latest and greatest consoles: the OLED Switch, the original Switch and the Switch Lite.It’s a great way to catch up Metroid Dread, Super Mario Wonder And of course, The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom of Tears.
There is a big caveat here. The Switch is on the way, and we’ll probably see a successor early next year, but it’s unclear how long Nintendo intends to support the original hybrid console after that. Still, the Switch has a huge back catalog worth exploring.
Speaking of its back catalogue, Many retailers offer Get $20 off lots of Nintendo first-party games.These include: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Party Superstars, Luigi’s Mansion 3, more. This brings the price down to $40 per game.Cool bundles are also available including: Tropical themed Switch Lite and digital copy Animal Crossing: New Horizons $200, available at both Target and walmart. Although this one is not part of the MAR10 festival, it’s still a pretty good deal.
The company also doubled the free trial period for Nintendo Switch Online from 7 days to 14 days. This, as the name suggests, will allow people to play online, but it will also open up a catalog of retro NES and SNES games. Switch owners have until March 17th to activate their trial, and it’s also available to those who have already tried the service in the past.
Finally, there are some real-world events for Nintendo enthusiasts. There will be a meet-and-greet with Mario and Luigi at his Nintendo store in New York City, with lots of giveaways and movie screenings. Super Mario Bros. movie. GameStop will also be holding an in-person giveaway on March 16th.
