In response, OpenAI executives published a blog post containing emails they received from Musk showing that Musk knew about the commercialization of OpenAI.
“Elon wanted to acquire a majority stake, gain initial control of the board of directors, and become CEO,” the post reads. “During these discussions, he withheld funding. Reid Hoffman filled the gap to cover payroll and operations.”
Grok-1 joins open source AI models from other companies including Mistral AI and meta.
