A few years ago, on a family trip, my wife and I took a cooking class. I love cooking, but I’m a novice at best. And the recipe for French macarons was not an easy one. We were lucky to have a chef/instructor to guide us through each step.
I learned a lot that day. How to whisk egg whites until soft peaks form. The importance of sifting flour. How to squeeze the dough. I also learned how much work goes into each macaron, which is worth the price you pay at the bakery. I left with a new appreciation for those little cookies.

That’s why even when I’m not on vacation, I try to make time for my hobbies, like cooking, writing, and listening to old records.
