Company X appointed a new safety director almost a year after the last safety manager resigned. The company said on Tuesday: Kylie McRoberts has been named head of safety and Yale Cohen has been hired as head of brand safety and advertiser solutions.
The two will have the unenviable task of leading X’s safety efforts, including efforts to reassure advertisers that the platform is not monetizing or monetizing. The company announced earlier this year that it would hire 100 new security-related employees. Many of its safety staff.
The head of safety has been a particularly difficult position since Elon Musk took over the company formerly known as Twitter. Musk has clashed with safety Reid before, and McRoberts becomes the third person to hold the title in less than two years. Previously, it was Yoel Roth in 2022, just after the disastrous turn of Twitter Blue. Mr Ross was succeeded by Ella Irwin. Last year, Musk publicly criticized employees who enforce misgendering policies.
Not much is known about McRoberts, but she is apparently an existing member of the X security team (her X account is currently private; It appears to have been recently deleted). “During her time at X, she has increased moderation transparency through her label, led efforts to improve passkey security, and led efforts to build a new Safety Center of Excellence in Austin.” said in her statement.
