Federal regulators are investigating possible safety issues caused by Tesla Cybertruck owners. said in the video While driving, that part of the gas pedal came loose and he pushed the gas pedal into the full throttle position.
California-based Jose Martinez posted a video on the following site: tick tock On Sunday, he said his Cybertruck had a “serious problem” and explained what happened. In the video, he said that he was driving his car a few days ago when something that looked like a cover for the gas pedal slid forward and essentially got stuck in it, making it impossible to remove.
“It was 100 percent off the gas and full throttle,” he said. “Fortunately, I was clear-headed and didn’t panic. If I continued to break down, the pedal would be disabled, so I was able to stop the car. But whenever I let go of the breakdown, it would start accelerating again. .”
“People panicking can be pretty dangerous. It’s crazy,” Martinez added.
The video went viral and appears to have caught the attention of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“NHTSA is aware of this issue and is in contact with the manufacturer to gather additional information,” NHTSA said in a statement provided to Business Insider.
NHTSA, which is investigating the issue, first reported: CNBC.
Martinez told BI he still loves the Cybertruck and thinks it’s “a great car.” He also said he was surprised to see his video getting so much attention.
Tesla did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.
Since the first Cybertrucks began rolling out to customers in November, the distinctive vehicle has attracted celebrities and die-hard Tesla fans, but the vehicle’s launch was not without its problems.
Cybertruck owners have expressed concerns about other aspects of their vehicles, from gaps in door panels to rust marks and handprints. In one of the latest complaints, several owners reported that soon after their Cybertruck was delivered, it started beeping and saying “Please stop safely. A serious problem has been detected with his steering.” He said the red warning started flashing.
Still, some Cybertruck owners say they love their vehicle, despite some issues.
“I think Tesla gets a lot of things right because the driving experience is so good,” Texas Cybertruck owner Donald Green previously told BI. “Once you start driving a Tesla, there’s no going back.”
