DJI’s latest product is another mini drone. It can capture 4K video at up to 30 fps and 60 fps footage at 2.7K resolution, and increases video bitrate up to 100 Mbps, ensuring higher quality video in both settings. These specs may not be appealing, but the price will probably be.
Don’t confuse it with the Mini Pro series, which costs several hundred dollars more. The $299 Mini 4K weighs less than 249g, is foldable, and doesn’t require FAA registration.
This spec doesn’t advance the Mini series, but it covers everything a novice drone pilot would need, including 2x digital zoom during 4K recording, 3-axis gimbal, and electronic image stabilization. DJI says it can transmit 1080p video up to 10km away. It also has Level 5 wind resistance and can fly for up to 31 minutes (up to 93 minutes with DJI’s $449 Fly More bundle).
Mini 4K also includes features such as one-tap movement, helix, drony, and panoramic shooting support. If you’re a complete beginner, DJI’s companion app includes a flight tutorial and one-tap takeoff and landing.
Much of this content will sound familiar to those who have been following DJI’s ever-growing drone fleet over the past decade, but it’s probably not intended for you. This is for beginners. The Mini 4K is significantly cheaper than the Mini Pro offering, and is actually cheaper than DJI’s other Mini drones. Available to order now for $299 / £269.
