A sales agent working for Persimmon has been suspended for pointing the finger at a homebuyer.
Photos published by MailOnline show employees at a housebuilding company in Derby using the gesture during an argument.
The gesture was made to potential homebuyers looking to purchase a property on the Buttercup Leys Estate, which has an asking price of up to £400,000.
The estate claims Persimmon built an “unsightly” fence without planning permission and that buyers had to face upheaval, stress, depression and bullying during the home buying process. It has been subject to a series of controversies.
The Derby buyer told MailOnline he went to the new development’s sales office earlier this month to view the home with his two siblings and parents.
he said: “I booked a viewing for 4:30pm. Apparently, I received an email at 4:26pm saying my reservation was canceled.
“We didn’t realize it and only realized it when we got home and checked our email.”
However, after entering the sales office, the man claimed that the snub started by the sales representative.
The man said, “After arriving, I went into the office and said I had a reservation.
“The man looked shocked and then saw my siblings and parents coming towards the front door and asked, “Are all these people going to live in a three-bedroom house?”
“I responded, ‘Of course they all live there and pay their bills. There are three rooms in the house. You shouldn’t judge or comment like this.'” felt.
“Then he told me that I had a bad attitude and that he didn’t want to show me any more houses.”
The prospective buyer then left the office, but claimed the sales agent followed him.
He continued: [the agent] I started making decisions like, “I can’t afford to buy a house!” Look at the car you’re driving! What is this? Look at my gold teeth! ”
“He was also using foul language, so I told him to fuck off and that he has no customer service skills.”
The purchaser also claimed that “he continued to instigate while saying, ‘You don’t know who I am!'” Can you see this gold tooth? Let’s meet outside of work, I’ll show you around. ”
“There was a lot of garbage coming out of his mouth. He completely ruined the experience and we were all very upset. It’s not nice to be threatened like this.”
But people who witnessed the altercation said there was a rude exchange from both the homebuyer and the sales agent.
A spokesperson for Persimmon Homes told MailOnline: “The sales advisor has been suspended pending a full investigation.
“Witness testimony suggests there was an unfortunate incident between the parties, and our sales advisor responded in an unacceptable manner.
“Customer service is of the utmost importance to Persimmon and we deeply regret this inappropriate behavior, regardless of the circumstances. All customers and staff should be treated with respect at all times.”
