Promenade Trust, which operates Graceland, claimed it owed Nowsany Investments and Private Lending $3.8 million to repay a loan.
The home was scheduled for public auction Thursday at the Shelby County Courthouse, according to the notice.
However, Mr Keogh, a trustee of the Promenade Trust, filed a claim on May 15, alleging that the creditor had used a forged signature.
USA Today and other media outlets, citing Keogh’s lawyers, reported that a temporary restraining order had been issued and the auction had been postponed.
Keogh’s attorney and Graceland did not respond to requests for comment.
by lawsuitElvis Presley’s late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, is accused of borrowing $3.8 million from Nowsunny Investments in May 2018 and pledging a deed of trust related to Graceland as collateral.
But Keogh argued in her lawsuit that the documents used were “fraudulent” and that her mother never borrowed money or gave her the deed of trust.
“Although the document bears a signature that appears to be that of Lisa Marie Presley, Lisa Marie Presley did not actually sign the document,” the complaint states.
An injunction hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, according to USA Today.
Business Insider was unable to reach Naussany Investments for comment.
Keogh, who recently starred in Daisy Jones and the Six, became Graceland’s trustee after her mother passed away in January 2023.
The 13.8-acre property was purchased by Elvis Presley in 1957 for $102,500.
After his death in 1977, Graceland became a National Historic Landmark and one of Tennessee’s premier tourist attractions.
Elvis is buried there with several members of his family, including his daughter, grandson, and parents.
