Meta is Has been updated Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses offer even more hands-free functionality, including a new feature that lets you share images as Instagram Stories without having to take out your phone. If you’ve already taken the photo you want, just say, “Meta, share my last photo on Instagram.” However, if you want to be more spontaneous and want to take a photo and upload it as a story on the spot, you can also say, “Meta, post a photo to Instagram.” This is for moments that you don’t mind sharing with your followers in real time without editing.
Additionally, you can now play songs from Amazon Music right on your smart glasses. Just say, “Hey Meta, play Amazon Music” and start listening to music on your smart glasses’ open-ear audio system. Of course, you can control the audio with your device’s touch controls or voice. If you have a Calm account and want to de-stress, you can listen to guided meditations and mindfulness exercises on your smart glasses instead. To do this, just say, “Hey Meta, play Daily Calm.” If you don’t have a Calm account, you can get a free three-month subscription by following the on-screen prompts in the Meta View app. All of these features are being “gradually rolled out,” so if you don’t have one yet, you’ll eventually have access to them.
Last month, Meta also rolled out multimodal AI for Ray-Ban smart glasses after months of testing. This allows the smart glasses to function as a personal AI gadget outside of your smartphone, similar to the Rabbit R1 and Humane AI Pin. Thanks to that update, you can now ask your smart glasses to describe objects in your environment, identify landmarks, and read signs in different languages. This may be especially useful for people who travel frequently. Meta also gave the device the ability to make hands-free video calls using WhatsApp and Messenger.
