Over the last few years, I’ve developed a little calming routine to supplement the time I spend stuck at home working on sunny days. After I close my laptop, I put on my sneakers and… Pikmin Bloom Listen to music on your phone, go for a long walk to clear your head, plant virtual flowers in a mini-game.
Pikmin Bloom Released for Android and iOS in 2021 Pokémon GO Developer Niantic and Nintendo released the app as a “go outside and touch the grass” app, so I’ve been playing it regularly ever since. Recently, the app announced a special event, so 2.5th AnniversaryI realized how long I had actually been doing it for. Pikmin BloomBut that’s part of the charm. It’s more like a walking companion than a full-blown game. Collect Pikmin, feed them nectar, and flowers will bloom from their heads. Then you pick petals and “plant” flowers on your walks (don’t get too scientific about it). Pikmin).
Unlike Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom Not having to pay too much attention while walking around really appealed to me as I like to be fully aware of my surroundings while out and about. That, and the anticipation of being accompanied by hordes of softly singing Pikmin wherever I go. I love those weird little guys.
I usually get everything ready before I go out for a walk to make sure I have enough petals to plant. Then I press “start” and pretty much leave the app on until I take a break or the end of my walk, only checking every now and then to see if I’ve passed anything of interest. You can send your Pikmin out to explore, picking up fruit or destroying mushrooms that appear on the map, but you don’t have to actively walk to do this; it’s recorded in a list that I can refer back to later. When I get home, I love to see how many flowers I planted and how many steps I walked (I still don’t know the ratio) and assign different missions for my Pikmin to tackle.
There are frequent events, some of which involve the local community, that motivate players to reach certain step goals or plant a certain number of flowers, and players can also collect themed Pikmin that wear special decorative clothing. Pikmin Bloom Currently, they are teasing the release of Cheese Deco Pikmin next month, and I will try my hardest to get it. This app may lure players into making in-app purchases, but they are not absolutely necessary to get the full experience. I have been able to get by without spending any money so far.
Pikmin Bloom The AR component is Pokémon GOSo you can take photos of your Pikmin in the real world, but this feature can be pretty wonky. Perhaps what’s even better are the postcards that your Pikmin sometimes bring back from their travels. Pikmin have been known to occasionally capture landmarks in your photos. If you have friends in the app, you can send postcards to them as well. Pikmin Bloom It also has a built-in life log, allowing you to select photos from your walks and jot down notes and feelings for the day – a nice feature to look back on after a long adventure.
I’ve tried a lot of apps that try to gamify physical activity, but most of them leave me quickly losing interest. Pikmin Bloom It adds just the right amount of reward to a walk without getting in the way of any real activity.Plus, there are Pikmin.
