The M3-powered MacBook Air laptops have only been on the market for a few weeks, but they’re already seeing some pretty steep discounts, with Amazon selling both versions of the laptop. The price of the 15-inch model drops to $1,150 thanks to a $100 discount and a $50 coupon. If the larger screen is too big for you, the 13-inch model is also available for $100 off, .
The M3 MacBook Air hasn’t changed much from its predecessor, but the added processing power makes it a better choice. We love the sturdy form factor, lightning-fast performance, and great speakers. The trackpad and keyboard are also top-notch.
In our review, we praised the lightweight design; in fact, we called the M3 MacBook Air “impossibly thin for a notebook” and praised its unibody aluminum case. Compared to the M3 MacBook Pro, there are some trade-offs, such as not having the Pro version’s chip option, but the lines between the two models are becoming increasingly blurred. The Air gets the job done, whether it’s creating music or editing videos; the Pro line does those tasks faster, but Apple’s ultraportable laptops aren’t just for browsing the web anymore.
A few nitpicks are worth pointing out: First, there’s no USB-C port on the right side, which means integrating the computer into an existing home office setup may be difficult, and the display’s refresh rate is limited to 60Hz, which could be an issue with some AAA games.
It’s worth noting that both of these sales are for the standard versions of each laptop, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid-state storage, though you can still get discounts if you bump up both the RAM and storage. The sale has the 16GB/512GB 15-inch model for $1,500, saving you $200, and the more-specced-out 13-inch version for $1,350, saving you $150.
