Acer has announced its new SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera for people who want to take 3D photos and videos. Not only can users use the camera to capture 3D content, but they can also 3D livestream on YouTube and other platforms, and make 3D video calls on Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. The company describes the camera as “compact” and “pocket-sized,” with dimensions of 4 x 2.6 x 0.9 inches.
It features 8 megapixels of resolution per eye and a selfie mirror built into the weatherproof shell. More casual users can take advantage of the autofocus and touch focus capabilities, plus Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). But experienced photographers can customize the output as much as they like with Manual mode, where they can adjust the camera’s ISO, white balance, and shutter speed settings.
The camera’s 3D live streaming capabilities will be enabled in Acer’s SpatialLabs Player version 3.0, and high-resolution 3D video conferencing will be possible through the company’s SpatialLabs video calling widget. Of course, it’s compatible with Acer’s SpatialLabs devices, including laptops with glasses-free 3D screens, but 3D content captured by the device can also be viewed on third-party AR or VR headsets and 3D projectors.
The Acer SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera will be available in the third quarter of this year with prices starting at $549 in the US and €549 in Europe.
