According to reports, Robert De Niro will not be honored at the National Association of Broadcasters awards ceremony after making repeated anti-Trump comments outside former President Trump’s criminal trial.
The Oscar-winning actor is at NAB Best Individual Award, The Leadership Foundation’s Service to America Awards Ceremony will be held in Washington, DC next Tuesday.
in Statement to The Hill “While we strongly support the right of all Americans to exercise free speech and participate in public life, it is clear that Mr. De Niro’s recent high-profile activities will serve as a distraction from the philanthropic work we hope to recognize,” a spokesperson for the organization said, according to The Hill.
“In order to focus on honoree service, Mr. De Niro will no longer be attending the ceremony.”
in statement Following NAB’s decision to revoke the award, De Niro said in a statement to Congress, “I support the work of the NAB Leadership Foundation and want to express my gratitude and appreciation for all that it has done and continues to do for all of us. I wish the Foundation every success in its continued great work.”

Speaking outside the courthouse on Tuesday, De Niro said he joined the Biden campaign because it was the only way to “protect our freedoms.”
“If Trump returns to the White House, we will be kissing goodbye to these freedoms that we take for granted.”
De Niro, who recently provided voice acting for a Biden campaign ad, called Donald Trump a “clown,” adding, “We’ve forgotten the lessons of history that show other clowns who weren’t taken seriously until they became brutal dictators.”
“Thanks to Trump, we’ve been given a second chance, and now no one is laughing. It’s time to remove and stop him once and for all.”
“I can tell you right now that if he joins, he’s never going to quit,” De Niro said.

President Trump responded to De Niro’s comments on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday.
“I never realized how small former actor Robert De Niro was, both mentally and physically,” the former president wrote.
“Today, De Niro, who suffers from the incurable Trump Derangement Syndrome, commonly known in medical circles as TDS, encountered a force far more powerful than the radical left outside the courthouse: MAGA.”
Trump then said: De Niro deepfake video Speaking at a podium outside the courthouse.
“I speak to you today because I am a scared little man, a struggling actor with a lot to hide. People like me need Joe Biden and his power not because he is a good person, but because we enjoy the same sick perversions,” the statement said.
