Lady Agatha Danbury is a fresh-faced gossip and gifted society shaper, but “Bridgerton” star Adwoa Andoh thinks it’s time for her character to have her own love story.
“Everyone wants love in their life, right?,” Ando told Business Insider in a recent interview. “When I talk to fans, a lot of them ask me, ‘When is Lady Danbury going to get her moment in the sun?'”
Season 3 of “Bridgerton” focuses on the relationship between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) as they evolve from friends to lovers, showcasing a more vulnerable side to Ando’s strong, witty and dignified character.
The unexpected arrival of her brother, Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis), forces her to confront unresolved childhood resentments and struggles with his romantic feelings for one of her best friends, Lord Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell).
By the end of season three, Lady Danbury has repaired her strained relationship with her brother and expressed support for Lady Violet’s attempts to explore her own feelings for Marcus.
“But if he causes problems between the two of you, I would choose you over him,” Mrs. Danbury said, emphasizing how much she valued their friendship.

Ando still wants a love story for Lady Danbury and would like to work more with certain actors.
Production on the next season is already underway, with Ando saying filming is expected to begin sometime in the fall, and she has some ideas for storylines for her character.
The actor is vocal She has said in the past that she would like her character to experience love, and with Lady Danbury’s conflict resolved, now would be the right time to explore the character being single for so long and finding a new relationship.
“Someone feels like their life is set in a certain way,” Ando says. “What happens if you put another personality in there? What happens if she suddenly thinks about how to bring another personality into it?”
“This is a challenge that active, independent women face all the time,” she continued, “so I think it’s interesting to watch.”
“Either way, it’s beyond my salary,” Ando joked.

Ando also hopes to see more screentime for Lady Danbury and Penelope in the future, especially since they shared a rare heartwarming scene in the final episode. In Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, the two characters have a more pronounced friendship, and Penelope even named her first child after Lady Danbury.
“I love Nick and I hope we get to see more of that interaction between the two of them because I think they’re both swimming in the same pond of knowledge and how to use knowledge to encourage yourself, to protect yourself, to make deals, to change public opinion, all of that,” Ando said. “Any moment Danbury gets with Penelope is always welcome because she’s such a great actor and so much fun.”
Ando is excited to see the lead character of Bridgerton season 4 step into the spotlight

The Season 3 finale hinted that the show will next focus on Benedict Bridgerton’s (Luke Thompson) love story, and Ando couldn’t be more excited.
“Rookie is a fantastic actor. In fact, I went to see him do Love’s Labour’s Wrong in Stratford-upon-Avon and he was fantastic,” Ando said. “And there’s a quirky quality to his Benedict that’s very Rookie and I love that about him. It’s interesting and fascinating. It’s got its own songs, its own music, you could say.”
Given Lady Danbury’s penchant for meddling in the lives of the town’s young people, it’s not unreasonable to suspect that she may be involved in the second son Bridgerton’s quest to find a wife.
“I’m really interested to see how that plays out in a romantic way, because I think it’s going to have its own unique character and be very Benedictine,” Ando said, “and anything whimsical is appealing to Lady Danbury.”
“I know there’s a bit of playfulness in their relationship,” she continued. “I think Benedict is frowning a lot, and so is Lady Danbury. I think they’re both giggling across the room having a lot of fun, so it seems like it’s going to be a good one.”
